Sheldon has been a genius since he was born, he attended college at the age of 11 and has a stunning IQ of 187 (that’s good). But unfortunately he’s never gotten the proper admiration for his gifts…until now. Sheldon has been nominated for the Canadian International Science Award. Unfortunately Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler is nominated for the same award, and only one can take home the prize. Amy may be a woman of science, but she most certainly doesn’t play fair. It’s an all out battle of the brains, to prove once and for all who is the smartest. As if that weren’t enough, Leonard is going to ask Penny to marry him! Plus, there may be an impending nuclear disaster threatening to destroy the world. All your favourite nerds are here helping Sheldon navigate his way through with plenty of “bazinga’s” to go around! Join us for The Big BOOM Theory, featuring an eclectic mix of 70’s, 80’s and 90’s music

Notes & Credits

*Joe Davies Director's Notes

Welcome to the very first Canadian International Science award Ceremony. Gathered here are some of the greatest minds in North America. The year is 2012, the end of the Mayan calendar with perhaps a catastrophe looming in the near future. Luckily we are joined by Sheldon Cooper and his friends for an evening of fun and celebration. It has been a pleasure to work with this generous cast and crew some of which I have known for 25 years (or more).

This certainly is a celebration for me. For over two and a half decades I have had the privilege to visit this great city and work in a career that I love. I have many fond memories of working with wonderful people and many stories of adventure and even romance.

I would like to thank the cast for all the good laughs, the crew for making us look good and sound great, stage management for keeping me sane, all the artists involved that make these shows possible and of course the thousands upon thousands of fine people from Winnipeg I have had the chance to entertain for over twenty years.

Bob Cunningham Artistic Directors' Notes

Welcome to the boom!

For the second show in our 25th Anniversary series, we have decided to bring back one of the most popular Television show parodies we have ever done. Making it extra special is the fact that the television show is in its final season. What better way to say so long to the beloved show then with a reprise of our original spoof!

Once again, for this “back by popular demand” show, we have assembled a cast of Celebration Dinner Theatre veteran performers who you are sure to know and love. We have even enlisted one of long time performers, Joe Davies, to take the directors seat. This great team will have you laughing and singing along!

Enjoy the show!

Cherie Kotelniski, Amy

Cherie is delighted to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Celebrations by reprising her favourite role on this stage! After studying at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Music, she first sang for supper here in 2003 and is grateful for this theatre, where patrons can enjoy what they love and performers can do what they love! Cherie has appeared in 7 shows here, including: Downton Abbey Road, Oh Boy-Buddy Holly and Pirates of the North Saskatchewan II. She resonates deeply with the character of Amy Farrah Fowler, because awkward honesty is a precious part of humanity! Cherie would like to thank the entire performance, production, administrative and otherwise supportive members of this show's team. She sends love to the real People in her life and the scientist she's mad for, Ryan.

He is an active volunteer with CJNU FM Nostalgia Radio... listen for him from 3:30 - 6 Monday afternoons! A native of Dauphin MB, he now resides in St. Boniface with his best 2 friends, Fox and Chili (yep, they're his dogs). He has many people to thank for letting him partake in this journey. M&P, Jrose, Randy, S&Y, all the nieces and nephews, J&S, this terrific cast of friends and amazing performers. Mr. Davies, our Artistic Director Bob and our General Partners Doug and Janet. But mostly I thank you our audience being here, reading this and having fun with us!

*Lew Wetherell, Dr. Frank

Lew is delighted to be back at Celebrations Dinner Theatre after just reprising his role as Johnny Cash in our last show, Jailhouse Rock. This past year saw Lew appear as Sheriff Earl in All Shook Up at the Mayfield Dinner Theatre (Edmonton) and as Dr. Eugene Crowley in the critically acclaimed and extremely creepy production of The Bone House for Murball Productions (Edmonton). Lew has appeared in countless productions for Celebrations and is a former professional wrestler, performing as the Sin City Strangler for Monster Pro Wrestling (Edmonton). Lew would like to dedicate his performance to Deb, the true love of his life.
