Hey there all you boppers and sock hoppers, welcome to the 1950’s!
We are so glad you joined us for our tale of those happy days gone by. We’ve taken one of the 1950’s greatest real life legends, Buddy Holly and paired him with that same era’s fictional icons, the gang from Happy Days. Turns out they fit together like poodle skirts and pony tails… like sock hops and soda shops… like milkshakes and… okay, you get what I’m saying.
The 1950s were such an amazing time, and we’ve had so much fun exploring the iconic images and nostalgia. We’ve packed our heartwarming tale with some of the greatest hit songs from that amazing era, and with lots of laughs too. We hope you’ll have as much fun watching it as we did making it!
Thanks for coming

Fun fact, Evan grew up in Winkler, MB, and now he's playing the Fonz - a character originally portrayed by Henry Winkler. Ayyyyyy! Evan studied acting, voice, and dance at the Randolph College for the Performing Arts in downtown Toronto. Evan has worked professionally for the past 10 years (Canadian Opera Company: Iphiginea in Taurus; Toronto Fringe: The Killing Game, Tiki Bikini Beach Paradise Party A-Go-Go; Lower Ossington Theatre: Spamalot; Hart House Theatre: High Fidelity the Musical Canadian premier, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; & international tours including Evil Dead: The Musical; and others) Evan also spent 2 1/2 years travelling around the globe while singing and dancing in various Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's production casts, and now lives in Edmonton with his beautiful wife and partner. Look for Twin Flames Productions in the future. This is the first show Evan has joined at Celebrations Dinner Theatre and it's just the flat-out, neatest, extra swell, over-the-moon-iest! Enjoy the show! You can follow Evan @EbranDoubleding.

Born and raised in Victoria, BC, Kendra’s passion for theatre and performing sparked at an early age and she has been singing and dancing ever since. She graduated from the Canadian College of Performing Arts’ Company C program this past year where she had the opportunity to assistant music direct, create new work, and even learn how to play the accordion. Since graduation she has dabbled in puppetry, film and stage management. Some favourite past credits include CCPA’s Cabaret, Wintertime and the Gold Fever Follies’ Love and Business. Kendra is thrilled to be a part of Buddy Holly’s Happy Days and she hopes you enjoy the show!
Cameron is a recent graduate of the Theatre Performance and Creation program at Red Deer College. His recent performances include the role of Adolphus Cusins in the RDC production of Major Barbara, multiple character roles for Butt Ugly’s original play Unstoppable, and Dominic Fabrizzi in Tony N Tina’s Wedding. This is his first performance with Celebrations Dinner Theatre, and he couldn’t be happier to share this night of singing, dancing and fun with you!
Mark is excited to be back after recently completing the run of Celebrations’ More Dirty Dancing. He is also a brand new addition to this travelling cast and is just now jumping in to join the fun.
Mark recently graduated from the University of Calgary with a BFA in Drama. When he's not working with Celebrations, Mark is a professional stilt walker/runner/dancer with Green Fools Theatre, an improviser with Loose Moose Theatre and a Pochinko style clown with the Calgary International Kid's Festival.
Thank-you for being here to support live theatre.
Sydney James has worked in dinner theatre since she was a bright eyed nineteen year old and forcing reluctant audience members to dance onstage for six years! When she isn’t expertly perusing a thrift shop or forcing her pet rabbit to cuddle her she enjoys eating latkes and taking five years to finish a three year university degree! Sydney spends most of her time picking out which pair of black leggings to wear and deciding which of her theatre credits to include in her bio. She was Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest and The Littlest Christmas Tree in her grade three Christmas pageant. Sydney would like to thank Brandon for always keeping her smiling and Brandon’s Xbox for keeping him company while she’s on this tour.
Dan is excited to be back in Winnipeg again for another Celebrations show! Dan began his career with Celebrations way back in 1996 in Flatland Jamboree. More recently he has been in Modern Family Vacation, Another Flashdance, Runaway Bridesmaids, and More Dirty Dancing. Dan would like to invite everyone to sit back and enjoy the show!
